Happy Tuesday everyone. I hope you all have most of your lists marked off by now and are ready for family, fun and Christmas.

The weather isn’t looking exciting in our area, but it hasn’t happened yet, there may be a chance it won’t be as bad as they are predicting.

Christmas has always been and will always be my favorite holiday season. Just being with family, enjoying great food, everyone

laughing and happy. Making memories that will last a lifetime.

Last night I was thinking of Christmas’s when I was little. My dad always liked to drag things out as long as he could. We didn’t just run down the stairs and rip into the presents under the tree. We all sat down and had breakfast together. My brother and I eating as quickly as we could as the anticipation grew every minute to see what Santa had left us the night before. Oh how I would love to sit at that breakfast table again with my mom and dad and my big brother.

So I saw it only fitting to share breakfast recipe today. And this one is that is sure to be a favorite of your family. As it is with mine.

If you have ever been to Patti’s then you know that after the pork chop, and the meringue pies, everyone’s favorite is Patti’s bread and strawberry butter. And this is no ordinary loaf of bread. Staying in pure Patti’s fashion, it is a super-sized loaf of bread baked in our kitchen fresh every morning. And the strawberry butter is a legend in a jar. So when thinking of Christmas breakfast, I could think of nothing better than slicing that bread into thick slices and making up a batch of French toast, Patti’s Style.

Now you will need to slice your bread, now my bunch likes it nice and thick but that is up to you. You will also need 2 large eggs, 1 cup milk, (I use half & half), a pinch of salt, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon and some butter. I also like to add a tablespoon of maple syrup to the batter for just a touch of sweetness. You will also need some powdered sugar.

Put all ingredients into a bowl and whisk together. Dip your bread slices in the mixture and flip to make sure both sides are evenly coated. Melt your butter in a large skillet and place dipped bread pieces in skillet. Turning the slices until both sides are golden brown. Usually takes two or three minutes.

When finished I usually cut each slice diagonally and place on a platter. I dust them with powdered sugar and serve. Now this is where it can get very interesting. I love to offer different toppings so everyone can create their own tasty recipe. I have fresh strawberries, blue berries, black berries. Different flavored syrups and of course whipped cream. And always have a couple jars of Patti’s strawberry butter. It is amazing on French toast. You can

even have some sprinkles available for the kids. Because you know everything is better with sprinkles. This just makes breakfast so much fun and delicious as well.

I would like to wish each and everyone a very Merry Christmas. Make them memories folks. And maybe one day, someone will be sitting writing a blog about one of your Christmas breakfasts they remembered from their childhood. Thanks Mom and Dad for all my wonderful memories.

Until Next Time,

Bev

What a delicious-looking recipe and story behind it. The https://cabriostructures.com/ way it’s described makes it feel both comforting and special. I recently read a food-focused feature on a cabriostructures-based review blog (cabriostructures) that had a similar charm.

If you only need an email address for a short task like receiving a confirmation link or code, temp mail can save a lot of hassle since you don’t need to create an account and you don’t end up with extra junk mail afterward.
